Seems like a lot of people have personal "favorites" thru the years (doncha just hate it when they update & improve your favorite model!?)....
My favorites would be....
Nike Mariah....the original version! This was one of Nike's first versions of an "air sole". It wasn't constructed as they are today....it more along the lines of air being injected into the midsole. I LOVED the way these felt, they almost felt like they were propelling you forward!
Nike Spiridon Gold (naturally!)...a stripped down racing flat that was one of the early models to make use of the "phylon" midsole material. I remember watching Carlos Lopes win the Olympic Gold in the '84 Marathon while wearing these. ;D

The kennedy's were always my favorite from nike. I had a good experience with the asic racer for the marathon.

I think my all-time favorites where the Adidas Adios back from around 1997-98 but I've had pretty good success with most every racing flat I've tried. Rebok made one a few years ago called the Ironman (designed for Ironman Hawaii) that I got a lot of good use out of. I've also used several of the Ascics racing flats with good results (gel Magic racer was a little light - had to add insoles to those). NB is one company I haven't had much luck with but I wore a pair of NB 920 triathlon-specific racing flats through last summer and this winter (just retired them after BOMB) with very good results. Of course, they've been discontinued . I raced in Nike Streak's (?) in 2003 with very good results but I can't ever seem to stick with what works ; always gotta try something new. I'm getting ready to test a pair of NB 750's for McGuire's. Since I had good results with the 920's, I thought I'd give NB another try.
