What's everyone's experience with the durability of New Balance shoes? I find that, while many NB models fit me pretty well, I wear out the mid-sole shock absorption within about 200-300 miles; sometimes even sooner. I'm currently running in a pair of NB 856's and have been keeping a mileage log to see how well they last. I'm starting to notice substantial "feedback" from the road through the mid-foot so I tallied up the total mileage an it's only 110 miles. It's not like I've had them sitting on the shelf for 2 years waiting to be used either. I purchased them new locally in late Febrary so it shouldn't be that they've "aged' on the shelf; they're only two months old. Anyone else suffer from this problem with NB's?

I suppose the few NB's I've worn have had the tendency you describe......or maybe they wear about the same as they always have, while most of the other shoe companies have gone the route of "exotic" midsole materials (air, gel, etc.) which wouldn't tend to lose it's "bounce" over a period of time.....just a thought..
