I was originally intent on ordering the Lunar "Trainer" but Running Warehouse didn't have them in my size. After reading a little bit of info on the "Racer" and seeing it recommended for tempo workouts and races up to the Marathon I decided to take a chance on a pair........I'm glad I did. This is one of those shoes that just feels "right" when I lace it up. It has VERY good cushioning, but yet somehow manages to feel responsive at the same time. It's been a long time since I've tried a shoe that truly felt different in a good way......and this one definitely qualifies for me in that respect. Very lightweight....5.5 oz. I believe. My only complaint so far.....and I've only worn them once, so I'm not sure of this yet but the upper may not be as breathable as I would like, which is a little surprising since the upper is made of some new sort of material which is so thin you can see thru it. Overall a very comfortable racing flat and one that simply feels fast! Oh yeah....one more complaint.....they are NIKES, and you pay a premium price for that swoosh on the side. When ordering shoes from Running Warehouse you will usually find a nice discount on most all of the shoes they offer.......not so on these Nikes.

I forgot to mention...if you are an overpronator this may not be the shoe for you, but if you have a neutral footstrike, supinate, or even a light pronator you may want to give this shoe a test run. ;D

I bought the lightweight trainer. 8.9 ounces. I raced in it Saturday. The shoe felt great!

I finally got the "trainer" as well Clint....as much as I liked the racer, I hated to be putting a lot of mileage on them....trying to use them sparingly. The trainer does feel great! A similar feel to the racer, it has a little more stable platform than the racer which is to be expected. A very flexible shoe.....I like the upper on the trainer better than the upper on the racer. I paid particular attention to the heel area because of comments I had read in several reviews which complained of Achilles irritation due to a lack of a "notch" on the heel counter......this did not seem to present a problem for me.....and I wore them on a 12-miler to test them out. One thing I noticed about these shoes was they are built on a very curved last....which I happen to like. Overall I've been very pleased with these. A good LIGHTWEIGHT trainer for those who do not require much in the way of motion control.
