Well done at the Honey Bee, Kenny! Quote Kenny as saying, "Oh, and yes! I won some Local Robertsdale Honey and a 4 foot tall trophy." Second place ran 18:40 and there were 5 under 20 so actually fairly deep. I was well pleased after a 75 mile week with 12 Thursday and 12 Friday. to run that fast on dead legs. Sounds like Robertsdale had a deeper field than Bay Minnette. I (Brad) finally got under 19 in Bay Minnette, ran 18: 45 at Heart of Champions and grabbed the overall win, but no honey.
Tracy was second in his comeback event. Good to see him pain free and NOT hobbling along!

Yes, the Honeybee 5K was a fun time for me. I was really just gonna put in a hard effort and see what I could do during my highest mileage week since February. It was less than 3 miles from my house and I figured there wouldn't be much of a crowd so I did it. Ended up running very well considering the mileage. The things I was most pleased about was that despite having dead legs the pace felt comfortable and the fact that I ran almost even splits. 5:40, 5:42, 5:46. Honey as an award was definitely a perk. Congrats to Brad and Tracey. Next year, I'd suggest some of you come to R'dale. The weather was great and the course (certified by Bowie) was flat, fast, and not out-and-back.
