New guy to the area

Hello everyone, I just moved here about 2 weeks ago and have started training again. I have been all over the Internet trying to find running groups and have found the BAR and the Mellow Milers. I ran with the BAR on Monday and then the MM on Tuesday. I am a competitive runner but do enjoy meeting people. I have trained by myself for the past 3 years and would like to get with a group that likes to train. I am on the corner of Hillcrest and Girby and ready to run.

We have a few people over in Mobile but most of our members are over on the Eastern Shore. I know there used to be a group that met and ran at Cottage Hill Park but I'm not sure they still meet. If you are on Facebook, look up Marty DeMouy. He is a group member who still lives and trains in Mobile. Another guy is Jim Kinder. He runs a lot out near Cottage Hill Park. Of course you are more than welcome to join us in Baldwin County. We have groups on Tuesday night in Fairhope, Thursday night in Daphne, and on Sunday mornings for a long run in Fairhope.

Thanks for the reply Kenny,

I checked out Cottage Hill yesterday at 6:00 PM and no one was there until about, 7:00 there were 4 older guys but they were running so that might have been some of them. I might have to give the Sunday run a try since it is long distance and its about 30 minutes away. I will be doing the race this Saturday on the Causeway and I'll be wearing an ATL peachtree running company shirt.

Well I ran the Causeway 5K this morning. A pretty good race with a nice hill right in the middle. I was actually racing against Jim Kinder but I didn't realize it till after the results were posted . Jim it was nice racing with you and wish I could have stayed with you a little longer but hey, the summer has only just begun. Good job today and I'll probably see you again on the road.
